FAQ’S: We’re Answering Your Top CDB London Wig questions

Thinking about buying a wig? Do you have loads of questions? Questioning whether it’s a good idea? Fret not, we’re here to answer your most pressing wig questions. So, grab your pens and notepads, because it’s about to get real educational.

Question 1 … Do you lose your edges when you wear a wig?

This is probably the most frequently asked question and the simple answer is, no. If worn properly wigs can be great for your edges and even promote hair growth as it’s technically a protective style. What’s important is to make sure your hair care underneath your wig is up to par, it’s absolutely crucial. However, not wearing your wig right can wreak havoc to your hair. Things like wearing wigs that are too small or using way too much glue and not removing it properly, are what can damage your edges.

CDB London has some great alternatives if you don’t feel like using glues, most of our wigs don’t even need it because we use lace. A good wig should always protect your hair.

Question 2… How long will my wig last?

We understand that good wigs quite frankly – aren’t cheap. So, of course you want to be sure they’re going to last. The answer to this question heavily depends on two things: the quality of the hair and how well you keep the wig. When you buy at CDB London quality is guaranteed, which leaves the wigs upkeep. There are a few things you can do to ensure that the wigs last a long time. For example switching up your wig is great for longevity although, if you are wearing the same wig that’s fine, even so you can wear the wig for about a year.

Question 3… Why are wigs so expensive?

This is a great question, because everyone wants to know where their money is going. Wigs are an investment and I think they should be seen as such. They’re not only going to last a couple of years but you’ll be able to wear them a countless amount of times. Wigs make more financial sense than getting a sew-in for which you’d have to buy hair, and pay for the install each time. With wigs you’re paying for the quality so when buying a good quality wig (like CDB London’s), you can be sure that you’re getting what you pay for. Even then, it’s definitely worth the price.

Question 4… Are your wigs beginner friendly?

We are proud to say: yes, yes they are. No matter whether you’re a wig pro or novice CDB London wigs are usable to everyone. We proudly wear our slogan #HairMadeEasy, it’s kind of our thing. We want to bring salon quality and style to your home.

All of the CDB London wigs come already customised and ready to wear, meaning that all you have to do is cut your lace. You even have the option of getting the lace already cut which you can select when you checkout during the purchase of your wig. We make sure to do all the heavy lifting so you don’t have to.

Question 5… What are the common mistakes that can ruin a lace wig?

What a great question! There are definitely things you can do to ruin your wig, one of them being not brushing it. You really want to go to town (gently but thoroughly) and get the whole head, especially the part in the back of the head to ensure you get all the knots and tangles out. Do this both in the morning and the evening, this can help avoid split ends, dry hair and the hair ripping out. Yup, brushing can save you from a lot.
